The Flag Issue:Celebrating Scientology's New Spiritual Center

Building for the Future

Milestone accomplishments, accelerating in 2007 with release of the Basics Books and Lectures of Dianetics and Scientology, culminated in the crowning achievement for the Scientology religion worldwide—the opening of the Flag Building, marking the completion of an evolutionary step for the religion and a new era of expansion.

The Basics Books and Lectures of Dianetics and Scientology, the foundation of the Scientology religion, are released after meticulous restoration to L. Ron Hubbard’s original written and spoken words.
To meet the demand for the Basics Books and Lectures and other Dianetics and Scientology materials in more than 50 languages, new publishing facilities are established: Bridge Publications in Los Angeles and New Era Publications in Copenhagen, forming the world’s largest all-digital, print-on-demand publishers.
The fully renovated 172,000-square-foot Oak Cove retreat, one block from the Fort Harrison, opens to provide additional space for parishioner accommodations and religious services.
The day-by-day record of L. Ron Hubbard's path of discovery in Dianetics and Scientology—more than 1,000 Professional and Advanced Clinical Course Lectures—is released, signifying the Golden Age of Knowledge Accomplished.
The 267,000-square-foot Fort Harrison religious retreat is rededicated after an 11 month, top-to-bottom renovation and restoration, to provide accommodations, restaurants and amenities for parishioners, participating in religious services and to serve as a civic and cultural hub for the greater Clearwater community.
The 185,000-square-foot Church of Scientology International Dissemination and Distribution Center—a unique printing and production facility that generates information materials for all Scientology Churches and their humanitarian programs worldwide—opens in Los Angeles.
On March 13, 2011, the new Ideal Church of Scientology of Tampa is dedicated by Mr. David Miscavige to Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard on the centennial of his birth, March 13, 1911.
The 377,000-square-foot Flag Building is dedicated by Mr. David Miscavige in a ceremony attended by more than 10,000 Scientologists and guests, and opens for services to parishioners.
